North American Gypsy Horse Registries
(Not the official
name of anything just a descriptive title for this page!)
The gypsies of
England and Ireland do not typically register horses. A registry
for the gypsy people is neither used nor desired because of the private lives
of the gypsy people, and distrust of 'authorities'. An organization
keeping track of gypsies' horses is simply not wanted.
Here in
North America, horse owners desire the services offered by registries.
We do not specifically endorse one registry over another, but leave the
choice of registry option open to our clients. The horses from
BFSGH can be found in large numbers within the studbooks of
all the registries. In many cases, our
clients have registered their horse(s) in more than one association in
order to expand the number of shows available to them. In other
cases, our clients have elected not to register their horses at all.
The choice is yours.
Whatever your choice, we are happy to assist you with the information
you need to make registering your horse an easy process.
| Note: Occasionally we hear stories where a
client has been told that horses from BFSGH could not be registered
with the Gypsy Vanner Society. In all these cases, it turns
out that the person(s) making these claims are trying to sell the
client their own horse(s), and are using this technique to sway the
client from us. You can rest assured that such comments are
purely fiction. Horses from BFSGH are highly campaigned by
Gypsy Vanner officers, directors, and prominent members. In
addition, for the past 3 years (2005-2007), horses from BFSGH have
won the majority of top honors at the Gypsy Vanner Society's
national show. |
